Saffron water

• 0.5 g saffron threads
• 1/2 tsp sugar
• 1 tsp spirits

1. Put saffron and sugar in a mortar.
2. Grind it finely.
3. Pour the spirits in.
4. Shake carefully, so it is mixed together. Hold the mortar down to the table while you shake it with small movements.

It is correct that there is no water in saffron water.

NB! Saffron water is very yellow and staining. Be careful to not splash or spill it.

Powdered saffron is said to be a viable substitute for saffron water.
